How to Apply
If you want to drive any vehicle that falls in the category C license class (including busses and lorries) you must obtain a commercial driver's license. This is a separate driving license from a regular license, and it covers all the regulations and skills required for these vehicles. You must pass both a written test and a driving test before you are able to operate these types of vehicles.

You can also apply in person to obtain a replacement or a new driving licence at a local customer service center. You will need your valid driving licence, passport style color photo as well as supporting documents. You must surrender any out of state driving licenses, permits, or ID cards before applying for a new New York driver's license.
If you already have an auto licence in the category B and you are a Category B driver, you could be able to have C and C1+E added to your license if you pass the driving test for cars in those categories. Requirements
You must meet certain requirements for applying online for your Class C license. You must have a valid beginner's permit and pass a written test and a road test. You'll also have to prove your identity and residency in the US. You should also surrender any out-of-state driving license or permit, or ID card.
The Class C driving license permits you to drive a private vehicle with up to nine seats or cargo vehicles, as well as tractor units up to a maximum of 3.5 tonnes GVWR.
